My name is Joesph Tribiani II. I was born in Florence, Italy, on February 19, 1894. My mother's name was Elouise and I was named after my father, as you can see. I have three brothers and one sister, as you can see in the family photo below. ( I am the one near the bottom with black hair. ) I am a very proud to be Italian and I would fight for my country any day. I had a family, friends, a job, and a home before this war. I'll tell you my story......

I made it through the 8th grade year before
I had to work for my father as a baker's apprentace making bread and paistries. I learned the trade very quickly, and made a lot of money. This used wisely and in no time I had a concrete living and I married my Jessabel. We had two children with one on the way.
I was making a decent livng, married a beautiful girl, and I was having a great life. Then the war started. I, of corse, jumped aboard the band wagon first chance I got, thinking I would behome in no time.Ooh boy, was I wrong.

But, I digress, my nation was brought into the war because we were in the allied powers. It's so strange that the killing of thousands of people was triggered by the killing of one man. The Archduke Franz Ferdinand would probably roll over in his grave if he knew the brutality that has taken over us all like a fungus. It seems everyone is angry with one another, and NO ONE can be trusted.

In my opinion, we are doing a good job with our battle plan, but we need more weaponry. If we are to gain the respect we deserve, we should use more deadly weapons, do more dammage. We should have all other countries, even Germany, begging for mercy. Some say that war has caused enough distruction, but that's what war is. Sure it's bad, but we all know Germany is to blame, and Italy should finish what Germany started.

Propaganda Poser I found
This is a poster that we used to ry and gain more troops. We used moving slogans to attract people of all ages to gain their awareness and seriousness of the crisis at hand. This poster is one of many that was all over anything that would stand still. All over, distruction, posters, lives being lost and destroyed. I was one of the many who had their friends, amily, and homes lost because of ths bloody war. All of my family had died, even Jessabel, except for my mother, who is now very sick.

I am so glad Russia has left the war. This is a big advanntage for Italy because now we don't have to defeat Russia's huge and powerfull navay. That can certianly lighten he load of work to do. But, we still have not accomplished our goal. I don't blme them for leaving the war. We all just need to stop in my opinion. Why can't we just sit down and settle our diffrences face-to-face? Then, we can put all of this behind us and help eachother clean up all the mess we have created. We are all acing so foolish, we can't see we are all to blame...

Their is something that is making my heaart heavy latley. Ever since the Treaty of Versailles, which was a treaty that put full blame on Germany for the war and all distruction durring it, we have not goten our land promised!! We were promised Tyrol, that was ouned by France but was lost, if we switched sides in the war. Well...we went to London to tell them we were claimng our land, but we recieved news of France re-gaining it.

And, I also forgot to tell you about my christmas durring WWI. It was so much fun! We had actuailly declaired a cease-fire and played games like soccer and gave eachother gifts. We gave jam, chocolate, anything we could give. I remember singing christmas carols with an Irish soldier and a Brit. It was definatley a relief frm all the fighting. Drinking, food, dancing, and just being with each other as friends. I haden't been that happy in a long time, untill not that is, because I finally go to return home. I was so excited I just ran into town, across the streets, and I didn't slow down 'till I saw my house. I stoped and gazed , then slowly walked up and rang the doorbell. My mother greeted me with a warm, withered smile, and suddenly, I was attacked with love and hugs from my kids, and got to meet my youngest son for the first time. He looks so muh like his mother.

Everything just sort of melted into the norm after that. My two eldest kids went to college and became lawyers. My youngest son, who is now 15, is working in the bakery with me. We have just started to remain our lives after that terrible war, but we will never forget the lives lost and ruined. I thank you for listening to my story and may you never forget...........
